Hoddesdon Driving School has been established since 1992.
We are currently working in association with WhatCar? Driving School - the country's premier National Brand.
The principal, Mervyn Walker began his career as a driving instructor with the British School of Motoring, where his teaching and leadership qualities were quickly recognised.
Within six months of gaining his Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) certificate, he was appointed as Branch Manager with responsibility for training of new instructors, amongst his other duties.
After eight successful years, Mervyn left BSM for an exciting new role with the AA Driving School, principally as a driver trainer but soon progressed to training driving instructors on a full time basis.
Again, teaching, coaching and leadership qualities were quickly recognised and Mervyn was seconded to the 'Train the Trainer' programme.
Mervyn was a senior member of the team, taking part in the development of training materials and courses.
2007 brought exiting new challenges when Mervyn left to start his own company.
Hoddesdon Driving school has enjoyed unparalleled success in training learner drivers in the local area, trainee driving instructors throughout London and the Home counties and conducting fleet training for many local and national companies.
Mervyn is the holder of several Advanced Driver qualifications; RoSPA Gold standard Advanced Driver; IAM Advanced Driver and DIAmond special and Advanced Driver.
Additionally he is a qualified RoSPA Tutor and a DIA approved Taxi Trainer.
