Lessons at Keen Driving School are as much about enthusiasm as they are about encouragement. Whether you're 17 or 70, we want to take you all the way to a full driving licence.

We're a small and friendly school. Our ADI instructors are eager to get students driving safely on the road and successfully through their test.

Our 60.8% pass rate for students passing their driving test compares favourably with the DSA national average of 42.3%. Many Keen beginners pass their test first time round.

We offer a door-to-door service. We pick you up from your home, your school or your workplace for a full hour-long lesson, and then drop you back off at your starting point.

You'll benefit from one-to-one tuition in the latest, easy-drive, dual-control vehicles, with power-assisted steering and air conditioning.

And if you want to really focus on learning to drive, you can take a week-long intensive course.

You get one lesson in the morning and another in the afternoon every day for a week. Each lesson can be one, one and a half, or two hours long, and the course finishes with the test itself, so you could have your full licence in just a week.

It's a great way to concentrate on learning to drive without the many distractions of everyday life. Each session builds your ability without the forgetting and loss of muscle memory that can happen with sporadic or infrequent lessons.

At Keen we practise everything that may be covered in your driving test. From the very first lesson, your driver development card tracks the essential skills you have mastered.

All our instructors are experienced and fully qualified professionals and will offer guidance, feedback and advice tailored to the student.

Because driving is a practical skill, it requires practice to fix the skill. We recommend students take at least two lessons a week as the most efficient way of building muscle memory and ingraining good driving habits.

Lessons can be booked any time between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Saturday.

And if you're wondering about just how many lessons you're going to need, our rule of thumb is that students need about 1.5 lessons for each year of their age.

But that's a guide and not a guarantee.

Experience, aptitude, confidence, commitment and lesson frequency all affect progress. We treat all our students as individuals and recognise that they will proceed at their own rate.

We cover south-east London, including Addiscombe, Anerley, Beckenham, Bromley, Catford, Croydon, Crystal Palace, Keston, Lewisham, Mottingham, Norwood, Penge, Sydenham and West Wickham.

We also offer refresher lessons, motorway tuition, PassPlus and a programme for non-UK licence holders.

Highlights
  • Excellent pass rate of 60.8%
  • We treat each student as an individual
